FreeStyle Libre monitors glucose levels 24/7 to help avoid blood sugar spikes or dips. With continuous monitoring, you can focus on your everyday life and avoid the guesswork needed to manage your insulin dosages. To use the FreeStyle Libre system, you just need to wear a small sensor that is conveniently placed on the back of your upper arm. Once the sensor is placed, wait one hour before scanning with the handheld reader to get your blood glucose reading in just one second.
When you are not scanning, the system will continue to measure your glucose levels every minute and stores readings every 15 minutes for up to 90 days. This allows you to review data with the system’s reporting capabilities anytime for a more in-depth analysis.

The Freestyle Libre CGM System is a Medicare-approved continuous glucose monitor to help you manage your diabetes with reliable, consistent data. It is factory calibrated for continuous readings throughout the day and night, has no interference with medications containing acetaminophen, and is accurate for insulin dosing. Additionally, it measures glucose every minute and stores readings every 15 minutes for up to 90 days.
The device stores 90 days of glucose data and it can be downloaded from the FreeStyle Libre system to the LibreView software, for a more in-depth analysis of your glucose data.
Yes, you can! The sensor is water-resistant and will work as long as it is not submerged more than 3 feet or kept underwater longer than 30 minutes at a time.
The FreeStyle Libre sensors are lightweight and flexible to wear. They are about the size of two stacked US quarters and can be discreetly placed on the back of your upper arm. It is painless and easy to apply with a very thin filament (0.4mm) that sits just under the skin to measure the interstitial fluid. Plus, the sensor lasts for up to 14 days, so you don’t have to worry about changing them all of the time.
Pull up the edge of the adhesive that keeps your sensor attached to your skin. Slowly peel away from your skin in one motion. Note: Any remaining adhesive residue on the skin can be removed with warm soapy water or isopropyl alcohol.
